Purpose:
Caterpillar today provides SDE(Supplier Development Engineer) in Resource Industry Supply Management. This is a Strategic Sourcing role within Resource Industry division for the Steel Castings, focusing primarily suppliers, Caterpillar Global Production and Service facilities. This role will support customers from casting development, manufacturing and its distribution, providing the supplier management in North Asia region and assessing the supplier quality and ensuring that all the products are free from defects and are in compliance with manufacturing specifications and legal standards.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and develop suppliers specializing in steel casting (sand casting, investment casting, etc.).
- Conduct supplier audits (quality, process, capability) and drive corrective actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve casting processes (smelting, pouring, heat treatment, machining, NDT, etc.).
- Resolve defects like porosity, shrinkage, inclusions, cracks, dimensional deviations.
- Implement APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and Measurement correlation for casting suppliers.
- Drive cost reduction
