Key responsibilities:
1,In coordination with Network Execution - aligns long-term and short-term planning with all relevant stakeholders to enable smooth and efficient hub operations.
2,Oversee hub port operations, including quay side, yard, and gate activities, to ensure quick vessel turnaround and dependable transshipment processes.
3,Ensure that schedule reliability targets are consistently achieved.
4,Handle escalations to resolve berth conflicts and operational delays promptly.
5,Monitors utilization of hubs and ensures that projected volume flows within limits of safe operating capacity (SOC) of hub terminals. Act as an escalation and decision point when necessary to prevent operational disruptions within hubs.
6,Aligns solutions for critical / failing connections; escalate in case of structural routing issues, preferred routing changes; Volume flow issues. Support alignment with NetEx in case schedule delays risk critical connections.
7,liaise with terminal operators and/or QSC/Area Marine Execution Managers to ensure the most optimal berthing lineup for incoming vessels and proactively monitor ETA and ETC progress
8,Support Transshipment in case of escalation needed or structural issues with overbookings, roll pool decisions that risk inefficient hub flow. Align solutions for critical / failing connections; escalate in case of structural routing issues, preferred routing changes; Volume flow issues.
9,Optimize the berth plan to secure T/S connections and maximize vessel utilization as per the plan defined by Cargo Control and T/S Regional team
10,Ensure the reduction of waiting time outside the terminal to the maximum (ideally zero) for incoming vessels
11,Manage critical connections to optimize dwell time
12,F(xiàn)ormulate reports and visual management for the terminal performance team based on defined KPIs and leading measures
o RAS Berth Delay Situation Reports / Weekly Operation Reports
13,Monitor congestion and external contingencies (e.g., weather, strikes, accidents), predict the impact and work proactively with Network Execution for recovery plans
14,Conduct post-port call reviews of vessel calls to assess and address areas for improvement
15,Collaborate with the terminal operators and/or QSC/Area Marine Execution Managers to achieve the best possible berthing prospects for HL vessels
16,Identify significant changes in volumes per service and work with Network Execution for possible proforma and berth window changes
17,Identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost control
18,Promote new business processes for smoother workflows and support continuous improvement initiatives
19,Act as an escalation point for drastic changes to vessel ETA/ETC and adjust labour orders accordingly, where appropriate
20,Ensure that required terminal performance reports (e.g., TPFREPs) are generated on time with quality and accuracy checks
21,Takes a leading role in addressing and resolving all hub terminal related issues
Qualifications:
1,Bachelor’s degree in marine studies, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, or experience as a Nautical Officer.
2,Proven experience in port and terminal management, with a focus on berth planning, port operations, and hub management.
3,Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel scheduling, and terminal activities.
4,Strategic mindset and the ability to develop and implement effective plans and initiatives.
5,Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive operational improvements.
6,Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
7,Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards in port and terminal operations.
8,F(xiàn)amiliarity with port and terminal management software and tools.
9,Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
10,Business level Mandarin language proficiency is required to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders in China.
